Recently the most talked about form of internet marketing is to submit article to website design to distribute free website content. So in theory you write an article add a link to your website and then nice friendly webmasters put it on thier website for all their visitors to see. So you get the greatly sort after one way relevant links, and you also get you website plugged on another website.
Which sounds perfect what with the constant rumours about reciprocal linking being dead.
I'm am still to be convinced, this is the new holy grail of internet marketing. Internet marketing via article writing in my opinion is far from easy.
For example how easy would it be to get inbound links to improve your ranking in the search engines. What about the duplicate filter? Well, because the article remains the same it will always alert the duplication filter, so you can have the article publish on a thosand websites, only one will count and they might not even use your link.
So to get 10 links you would probable need to write at least 15 good articles.
“But what about all the traffic the article will generate?” I hear you say! Well yes maybe. To get people to publish your article they have to be written in a certain manner. The main reason people don't get many article published is because they are adverts not articles, their article are just selling their product. Webmaster rarely want to put these adverts on their site for free. To get published they need to be informative/entertaining. However if you write a article that primary function is to give useful information or to entertain, the reader usually won't have any good incentive to go to your site.
Usually webmasters publish article to make their site better rather than to send people away.
I recone 3 month from now, everyone will be sick to the back teeth of think up articles after getting next to no results.
