Saddam on trial in IraqThe court case of former visious dictator Saddam for horrible crimes against his own people has commenced in Iraq under tight military protection. He and eight associates are charged with ordering the killing of 143 Shia men in 1982 in Dujail.
His lawyer, Mr Dulaimi, says the trial is illegitimate and he want for the case to be adjourned.
The court hearing - filmed by TV cameras - is being held in a purpose built courtroom in the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad.
