Okay this is my first time at really sitting down and going through marketing a product from scratch. So I’m going to document that whole process.
These will be my steps:
1. Define your target market.
2. Define the products unique selling point (USP).
3. Analyses the compertition.
4. Describe how you will position your products or services.
5. Decide on how to brand the product.
5. Research availble advertising methods.
The product I will be writing about in this example is E-hive a ASP package for creating websites. Now this is a hard product to define because it is not a set product, all that we are trying to do is brand the process of producing online application/websites in a packge that people can understand. It is basically tailored content management. Now this is interesting because thousands of peopel make websites, anyone with a copy of front page can build a website. What we are trying to sell here are things like Ebay or even Google.
